Standard Life plc announced that Luke Savage has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and an executive director of the Company with effect from 18 August 2014. Since 2004, Luke Savage has been Director of Finance and Operations at Lloyd’s of London. Prior to his time at Lloyd’s, Luke spent four years at Deutsche Bank as Global CFO for the equities business and ten years with Morgan Stanley in various financial controller roles.

Standard Chartered PLC announced the appointment of Andrew Nigel Halford to the Board as Group Finance Director and Group Executive Director. In line with the Board’s announcement on 9 January 2014, Richard Meddings will step down from the Board with effect from 30 June 2014. Andy joins the Company on 16 June 2014. He becomes Group Finance Director and will be appointed to the Board with effect from 1 July 2014. Andy joins Standard Chartered from Vodafone Group Plc where he spent 15 years, 9 years as Chief Financial Officer until he stepped down in March 2014. He is a non-executive director of Marks and Spencer Group plc. Andy joined Vodafone in 1999 as Financial Director for Vodafone Limited, the UK operating company, and in 2001 became Financial Director for Vodafone’s Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa Region. From 2002 to 2005 Andy was Chief Financial Officer of Verizon Wireless in the US before becoming a member of the Board of Representatives of the Verizon Wireless partnership until 2013. Prior to joining Vodafone he was Group Finance Director at East Midlands Electricity Plc. Andy is a former Chairman of The Hundred Group of Finance Directors in the UK.

Next plc announced that its Group Finance Director, David Keens, has informed the Board that he intends to retire from the Group. David will retire shortly after the announcement of the Group’s results in March 2015. David was appointed to the Board in 1991 and has served in his current post for 23 years. The Board intends to appoint Amanda James as David’s replacement in March 2015. Amanda has been at NEXT for 18 years. She has led the management accounting and commercial finance team since 2005, and in this role was appointed Commercial Finance Director in 2009. In 2012 Amanda was promoted to her current position of NEXT Brand Finance Director.

BBA Aviation plc announced that Mike Powell has been appointed to the Board as Group Finance Director with effect from 1 July 2014, succeeding Mark Hoad who, as previously announced, steps down on 30 June. Mike Powell joins from AZ Electronic Materials, where he has held the role of Chief Financial Officer since 2011. Prior to this Mike was Group Finance Director of Nippon Sheet Glass Co Ltd having previously spent 15 years at Pilkington plc in a variety of senior finance roles.
