Located at ESADE Business School's 'EsadeCreapolis', Block Chain Space provides a connected environment conducive to entrepreneurial creativity and collaboration, combining mentoring and coaching sessions from industry experts. Staying true to the global, ubiquitous reach of blockchain technology, Coinsilium has developed a 12-week acceleration program for start-ups to develop applications utilising blockchain with disruptive technology potential.
Following applications from more than 80 start-ups, Coinsilium has accepted four companies into its accelerator program, covering a range of applications including:
- streamlining trade finance and the way businesses transact and secure payments of physical goods,
- enabling secure data storage, sharing and backup solutions,
- building a platform for peer-to-peer natural disaster resources management, and
- providing complementary digital currency services from online platforms to physical ATMs through to gift cards for retailers.
Grant Thornton Head of IT Consulting, Luis Pastor commented: “Grant Thornton is constantly pursuing excellence through innovation. One of the latest innovations which can truly disrupt business models in the next few years is Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. The way we understand technology is, that besides being aware of innovations, we need to be part of them. Therefore, we have taken one step further and decided to sponsor Block Chain Space, one of the first accelerators of Blockchain startups. Our aim is to get involved on new blockchain innovations from day one, work closely with startups and leverage this knowledge to provide our customers with the best consultancy services on Blockchain technologies.”
Roca Junyent Partner, Xavier Foz, stated: “We are proud to collaborate with the Block Chain Space, the first ever accelerator program in Spain for start-ups focused on blockchain technology. We are eager to work with such disruptive businesses to lead them through the multiple legal challenges posed by this innovative field.”
