TradeTech 2010 will begin with a buy side only day. 130 senior buy side traders are gathering to discuss strategies and exchange experiences in a buy side closed door environment. At the top of the agenda is the value of the trading desk and the role of the traders in the value chain. Senior traders from Barclays Wealth, Alliance Bernstein, BNP Paribas Fortis Investments, Principal Global Investors, and ATP Investment Management will be sharing their experiences of working with smart order routers, managing costs and increasing the value added of their trading desk. Technology and new electronic trading tools will take up part of the day, using roundtable and panel discussions. Larry Tabb, CEO of Tabb Group, will chair and moderate the buy side only day on the 20th of April. There will be a series of roundtable discussions at the end of the day moderated and sponsored by: Sanford C. Bernstein Limited.
The main conference will begin on the 21st of April, with an outstanding line up of speakers and panelists. This year TradeTech 2010 boasts the following keynote speakers:

These senior executives are joining TradeTech 2010 to give the European trading community their visions and opinions on the economy and its impact on the markets. They will be giving presentations and answering questions from the floor.
There will be a major focus on regulatio. On April 21st, a number of regulators, including the FSA, EU, Irish Central Bank and several other European regulators, will join a panel discussion. The discussion will be focused on the most recent regulatory developments in the equities trading world, as well as on the future plans to regulate the market and its participants. The regulatory panel will be followed by a ‘hands on’ roundtable, with heads of buy side desks and the regulators. The buy side will be giving feedback on regulation directly to the regulators. This is the first time in TradeTech history that the market participants have an opportunity to feedback directly to the regulator, so influencing and shaping the future markets regulation.
The main conference will be focusing on a number of strategic and practical aspects of equities and cross-asset trading. The fragmented marketplace has meant that most trading firms had to adapt and change the way they operate. Over 25 senior buy side speakers will be sharing their strategies and joining debates on:

There will be new product launches, solution demonstrations and plenty of networking during this industry event.
TradeTech 2010 will serve as the venue for a new Robot vs Human experiment. Professor Dave Cliff from the department of computer science at The University of Bristol is bringing the latest computers, research and robots to set up an experimental trading floor. 2000 senior experienced traders will try their hand at trading against robots. Each trader will have a chance to join the experimental trading floor for 15-20 minutes. The results of 2 trading days will be accumulated and announced at the end of the conference at TradeTech 2010.
