CapitalD – Growth Private Equity Internship – H2-25

Duties & nature of work

• Generally support the investment team with analytical work required for capital D to source and execute attractive investments, including: market research, competitive analysis, benchmarking, financial modelling, project management and related activities.
• Keep the team informed of market trends and industry news that are relevant to capital D sectors of interest.
• Review business plans and build detailed financial and valuation models. Put together memos to describe an investment opportunity for discussion with the investment committee.
• Monitor and report on KPIs and financial performance of capital D portfolio companies.
• Participate in the company’s communications and PR activities, including writing social media posts or designing and uploading content for the company’s website and selected social networks.

Education and experience

• Top quartile academic record from best-ranked target universities.
• Demonstrated quantitative skills (e.g. through internships, university modules, or extra-curricular projects).
• Financial modelling skills (e.g. business plans, valuation, LBO).
• Prior internship in finance or consulting. Directly relevant PE or IB internships would be preferred.
• Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills.

Commercial awareness

• A keen interest in private equity investing.
• A degree of awareness of the developments and trends within technology, digital and innovation.

• Highly motivated and eager to take the initiative and assume full responsibility for the delivery of projects.
• Creative and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication

• Fluency in English is a must. Additional European languages are a plus.
• Must be able to present new ideas succinctly and clearly.
• Needs to be articulate and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other

• capital D is located in Somerset House, London. Candidates must be London-based & able to work in UK.
• it is likely that the placement may involve international travel within Europe.
• 6-month internship starting June 2025
• Candidates with full-time availability only.
