Diageo announced the appointment of Alan Stewart to its Board as a Non-Executive Director effective 1 September 2014. Alan will also join the Audit, the Nomination and the Remuneration Committees on appointment. Alan Stewart is currently Chief Financial Officer of Marks & Spencer plc. Prior to his appointment to Marks & Spencer plc in 2010, Mr Stewart was Chief Financial Officer of AWAS, and Group Finance Director of WH Smith plc. He formerly held a number of senior executive roles at Thomas Cook Holdings.
Coventry Building Society announced that Mark Parsons will be its next Chief Executive Officer. He is expected to take up the role on 1 July 2014. Mark joins from Barclays where he is currently Chief Financial Officer for Retail & Business Banking globally. He has been at Barclays for eight years, having joined as Managing Director, Home Finance in the UK Retail Bank. In December 2010 Mark was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer for UK Retail & Business Banking and then to his current role a year ago. Mark began his career as an economist at Abbey Life, before joining Abbey National, where he worked for 18 years in roles including Branch Network Director, Retail Finance Director, Personnel Director, Regional Director and Head of Investor Relations. He then moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers to help build its Retail Banking Performance Improvement Consulting practice before moving to Barclays. He has previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
Perform Group plc announced the appointment of Ashley Milton as Chief Financial Officer. Ashley is currently CFO of GroupM EMEA, the Media Investment division of WPP, the world’s largest advertising and marketing group. Prior to joining GroupM in 2011, Ashley was Group Finance Director of Tarsus Group plc and his earlier career included senior finance roles at Aegis Group plc.
Anglo Pacific Group PLC (LSE: APF) announced the appointment of Rachel Rhodes as an independent non-executive director of the Company. Rachel Rhodes most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and a director of London Mining PLC from September 2008 until November 2013.
